MakerNew (https://makernew.com) is run by a sole proprietor in Houston, Texas, USA. "MakerNew" is the product's name, not a separate company. You can reach us at hello@makernew.com. By using the site you agree to these terms.
What the site is
MakerNew compares what popular apps cost with indie-made alternatives. Prices are read from each maker's own pricing page and dated, as described in How we check prices. Prices change, and we can make mistakes: always confirm the price on the maker's site before you buy. Nothing here is financial advice.
App names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify their products. MakerNew is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any app listed, unless a placement is labelled as sponsored.
Accounts
Makers can sign in with a link we email to them. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can open your sign-in emails can use your MakerNew account. You must be at least 18 to create an account or buy a sponsor slot.
Listings
Listing an app is free. We decide what to list and may edit, decline or remove a listing, for example when a price can't be verified or an app no longer fits our definition of indie. Information you send us about your app (its name, description, links and trade-offs) may be published, edited for length and clarity, and kept on the site; you confirm you have the right to share it.
Sponsor slots
- Slots are sold per week, Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC, at the price shown when you book. Prices are in US dollars and do not include any tax that may apply.
- Payment is taken by Stripe when you book. Your selected weeks are held for 30 minutes while you pay.
- Every ad is reviewed before it runs. We may decline an ad for any reason, including ads that are misleading, unlawful, adult, hateful, related to gambling or get-rich-quick schemes, or that point to malware or phishing. A declined ad is refunded in full.
- Sponsored placements are always labelled. Paying for a slot never changes an app's price, ranking or comparison on MakerNew.
- We count impressions and clicks ourselves and report them as they are; we don't guarantee any number of visitors or clicks.
- You are responsible for your ad's content and for the page it links to. If an ad becomes harmful after it starts (for example the link starts serving malware), we may remove it without a refund.
- Cancellations and refunds follow our refund policy.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the site: no automated scraping that degrades it, no attempts to break in or around its protections, no spam through its forms, and no false price reports.
No warranty and limits of liability
The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, MakerNew is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made using prices shown here, and our total liability for any claim about a sponsor slot is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and changes don't apply to slots already paid for. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA.
